Rolex Paris Masters – Second round: Alcaraz won the young guns fight against Sinner
Carlos Alcaraz put forth a convincing performance against Jannik Sinner to earn his third top 10 victory since the US Open (7-6, 7-5).
Sinner on Alcaraz: “A good match on both sides. Hopefully we can play many many more matches. I think it will be the case. We play at a very high level and we are young. It was a good start for both of us. We both are different players, Alcaraz and I, but the common thing we have is that we work very very hard with great teams. He’s not focusing on the press excitement. I don’t either. Today was not my day, but we’ll play more matches.”
Alcaraz: “I was very very agressive, more than him. I think it was the key, to focus all the time on what I had to do and to be the more agressive. I’m very happy of my level right now and I hope I can be in the same position that Jannik (in the ranking) in a couple of years. But for the moment, I’m happy with my level.”
